About Me

me

I am currently a Research Assistant at the University of Glasgow, Scotland. I am part of the SUM group (Social, Ubiquitous, Mobile) and I work on the Contextual Software project. As part of this research I study the use, adoption and adaptation of mobile software.

Outside of work I have recently begun jumping out of perfectly good planes for fun, I'm not sure if the thought of a thesis waiting for me on my laptop when I get down makes that easier or not.
I am also working through sampling as many of the restaurants in Glasgow and the surrounding area as I can, so tips for places to try next are always welcome.

Before returning to Glasgow to study I spent 4 years in Japan - mostly in Shizuoka and Aichi prefectures - and try to get back to visit at least once a year. 10 days a year in the country isn't enough to keep my Japanese up to scratch though, I'm always looking for people to irritate with my rusty language skills over a beer or two.
